Partner – Abe brings many years of clinical experience including serving as Rehab Director in hospital and home health settings. Alonso Avina, PT
Partner – Alonso has over fifteen years of clinical experience including over ten years managing an outpatient facility and six years of home health experience. He has worked at RUSH Medical Center, St. Elisabeth’s hospital and Norwegian American Hospitals in acute care PRN. His areas of clinical expertise include orthopedics, joint replacements, sports medicine, geriatrics, fall prevention training and home safety assessments. |

Jennifer Stec, PT
Founding Partner – Jen has nearly twenty years of clinical experience and has been active in hospital, outpatient and in-home therapy. She is highly regarded for her tireless commitment to patients, her consistent attention to detailed documentation and extensive knowledge of therapies. Jen has a wide breadth of knowledge but specializes in orthopedic and geriatric patients. |

Jeff Mathis
Managing Partner/CEO – Jeff has over thirty years of broad business experience including senior roles at GETCO, LLC (Knight Capital Group), Charles Schwab, and Marriott International. He also spent portions of his career at The Walt Disney Company and at several software start-ups. Jeff has been active as an investor and manager in numerous small businesses, including staffing, software and hospitality related firms. He recently joined Aptiva Therapy to assist in building infrastructure, strengthening controls, expanding brand and markets, and helping Aptiva to become a regional brand known for quality therapy. |

Melissa Hardesty, OTRL
Partner – Melissa has been a practicing registered occupational therapist for over fifteen years. She received her Bachelor's of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Kansas Medical Center. She started her own occupational therapy company in 2004 in the Kansas City area to provide quality occupational therapy focused on helping her patients develop the skills needed to live successful, independent lives. Together with Gina Lopez, Melissa joined Aptiva Therapy of Kansas City in February of 2015. She specializes in geriatric home health and her clinical expertise includes ADL/IADL retraining, environmental modification, home safety, energy conservation, therapeutic exercise and many other aspects of occupational therapy. |
